About this Talk

In 2017, Marin County had the 7th highest per capita rate of homelessnes in the US. By 2019, chronic homelessness had been reduced by 28%. Andrew Hening, Director of Homeless Planning & Outreach in San Rafael, presents 10 insights he learned during his time working out a solution for his community. By focusing on outcomes instead of outputs and using a By-Name List (prioritizing resources for individuals who are the most vulnerable), he and his team have developed long-lasting strategies to end homelessness. His organization, Opening Doors Marin, continues to coordinate various parties to provide housing opportunities and produce proactive results.
