23 Housing After Incarceration: Helping People Get Ahead after They Get Out

Phil DeVol, author at aha! Process Inc., discusses the Getting Ahead while Getting Out program for incarcerated individuals. This is a relationship-based program following an 11 Module workbook that facilitates conversations about poverty and implements a restoration model for returning citizens. Led by a volunteer facilitator that guides them through the material, inmates work in groups to learn about building resources and establishing plans for success post-release.
